Growing Expert Services Practice Adds New Litigation And Valuation Professional

Washington, DC – January 8, 2013 – GreatBridge Consulting is pleased to announce that Thomas B. Herman has joined the firm as a Director.  Tom is a CPA with over eighteen years of business experience, including twelve in the field of expert services with firms such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ocean Tomo, Tait Advisory Services and Ernst & Young.  He specializes in the determination of economic damages in intellectual property litigation and other complex commercial disputes, valuation, and the identification and quantification of fraudulent transactions.

Mr. Herman has managed large national cases related to damages arising from patent and trademark infringement, lost profits, diminished asset value, business interruption, breach of contract, price erosion, false advertising and market confusion.  He has provided litigation consulting services and prepared valuations and other quantitative analyses for clients in a wide range of industries.  His experience includes performing due diligence and valuation analyses for acquisitions, divestitures and start-up enterprises.  Mr. Herman has prepared expert reports, advised counsel on damages theory development and supported testifying experts in cases in federal and state courts and in mediation.

Prior to joining GreatBridge, Mr. Herman was a Manager in the Financial Planning department of one of the nation’s largest health insurance companies.  He previously served as a Director in the Expert & Valuation Services practice of Tait Advisory Services, and its successor firm, Ocean Tomo, an intellectual property consulting and services firm.  In addition, Mr. Herman spent five years as a Manager in the Financial Advisory Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he served on the firm’s national trademark practice team.  He began his career in the Chicago office of the Special Services Group of Ernst & Young, LLP.

Mr. Herman holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant and Certified Financial Manager.

Washington, DC – August 6, 2012 – GreatBridge Consulting, Inc. announced today the opening of its doors in downtown Washington, D.C. and San Francisco, CA.  The firm provides expert services for intellectual property, antitrust, commercial disputes, surveys, and valuations. President and CEO Krista F. Holt, recognized as one of the nation’s top consultants on intellectual property matters, has successfully led litigation consulting practices for many years and states, “I am excited to begin this new venture.  The new company leverages our experience over the past decade to provide a superior platform for our services.”

GreatBridge Consulting benefits from the addition of outstanding talent in the expert services community.  It welcomes Dr. Gauri Prakash-Canjels with extensive experience in intellectual property and in the analysis of market forces in antitrust matters, and Stephen Holzen, bringing years of experience in structuring intellectual property damages analyses as well as credentials as a patent examiner at the USPTO.  Supported by experienced staff at all levels with advanced degrees in finance and economics, medicine, management, law and other areas, GreatBridge has the resources to support a wide variety and size of engagements.

Continuing the successful path forged at previous firms, Ms. Holt will manage GreatBridge to provide efficient, high quality service for clients. In addition to providing a full range of litigation damages and valuation consulting, Ms. Holt resumes her successful Survey Practice, assisting clients in survey designs that provide answers to a variety of case issues such as demand, inducement to infringe, value and usage in patent cases, class certification surveys, and confusion and secondary meaning in trademark cases.

Ms. Holt previously served as Vice President at The Kenrich Group, a national business and litigation consulting firm, where she founded and managed the Intellectual Property practice. Prior to that, Ms. Holt founded and led the Washington, D.C. Expert Testimony Practice and National Survey Practice as a Managing Director for Ocean Tomo, a firm providing financial products and services related to intellectual property.

Prior to its acquisition by Ocean Tomo, Ms. Holt was a Senior Consultant for Tait Advisory Services’ Intellectual Property Practice. She also served as senior financial officer of a manufacturing wholesaler and an engineering firm, and as the Director of Marketing at a prominent marketing firm.

Ms. Holt holds an MBA from the University of Louisville and a BA from Wake Forest University. She is a Certified Licensing Professional and an active member of the American Bar Association, the Licensing Executives Society, the International Trademark Association, and the Intellectual Property Owners Association.  Ms. Holt is a frequent speaker for professional associations and universities such as the American Bar Association and Licensing Executives Society, and the Harvard School of Law.
